That Verstappen fire was pretty scary. And people question why refueling was banned in F1? In general, I'm thinking that refueling anything as quickly as possible has got to be a bad idea.

It was scary and a very small quantity of fuel. I think Matchett says it was less than 1/2 a liter. He was the rear jack man at the time. I know they used Intertechnique gear for the fuel rigs. They specialize in aircraft refueling hardware. I'd argue the F-1 method was safer than that of NASCARs (man jumping over a wall with 11 gallons of fuel on his back).
